After experimenting with some different variations\u2014including gluten friendly and gluten free versions\u2014it has become a family favorite.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients in Custard Crustless Pie<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Filled with fridge and pantry staples, you likely have all of the ingredients on hand to whip up this amazing custard pie. Another great feature about this recipe, is that it\u2019s pretty flexible and can be made gluten and dairy free if desired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What you need and substitutions:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Milk \u2013<\/strong> Whole milk is our favorite in this recipe. But if want a particularly creamy custard, you could use some or all heavy cream in place of milk. I wouldn\u2019t recommend using flax eggs or another egg substitute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Butter \u2013<\/strong> We prefer using butter in this recipe but you could substitute coconut oil in a pinch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Organic cane sugar \u2013<\/strong> Any granulated white sugar will work but we prefer unrefined organic cane sugar. I\u2019ve found these two flours together have given us the best results when it comes to gluten and grain free recipes.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vanilla Extract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Salt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cinnamon and ground nutmeg for topping<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Make Crustless Custard Pie<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No exaggeration, this recipe is as easy as pie to make. To make crustless coconut custard pie, add in 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes to the rest of the ingredients in the container of your blender or food processor and mix together.
